1. I am officially done with school until early August! I still have ESOL certification classes and summer school for the next three weeks, but hey. Tonight I'm celebrating with takeout pasta from Figo and watching the Spelling Bee. I love the Bee and am glad that ABC now treats it as a huge event with a live primetime broadcast and "getting to ( Read more... )

Congrats on being school-free for the summer! Two and a half months of possibility... what a delightful thought. : )

Dadgummit-- I missed the bee tonight but heard it was really good. Should have DVR'ed.

And you're definitely not the only one who has online shopping issues. I look at something, go away, look again, and by the time I'm ready to buy it, I've lost interest or talked myself out of it (usually two weeks later.) Plus, I have this habit of never taking things out of boxes. Last weekend I finally put up some clothes I ordered... in January. : / Yeah. I don't think I'm cut out for online shopping; but I hate real-time shopping so much that I feel like I need to adapt.

Summer vacation is the best (only?) perk of teaching middle school! Unfortunately, I still have to work for the next few weeks, but at least it's voluntary and I can ditch it if I want. :)

And I know what you mean about second-guessing purchases. I obsessively look at all the options, and by the time I'm ready to purchase the cart, I often talk myself out of it. Much easier to just throw things into a rolling buggy at Target!

I'm right there with you on the post-apocalyptic fascination. I'll be curious to hear what you think of The World Without Us. It was definitely one of my favorite books that I read last year.

I'm the same way when it comes to buyers remorse. I research the crap out of things before I buy it and then worry if I made the right decision. I think it's easier for me to buy things in person because I can physically touch the item and decide if it's right for me. It's also much easier to return something to a local store if I change my mind, verses amazon.com for example.

Yup, I know what you mean about the tactile experience. I think I just second-guess myself too much when buying online. It takes a lot for me to finally click on "purchase"!
