Did...did i just see a Yo-Yo Ball commercial on tv today or did i accidentally poof back in time for fifteen seconds?
Weird, weird dreams last night.
FIRST DREAM: In my first one i was at some party on the roof of a very tall skyscraper and one of the people in my group of friends was Sendhil. I should've known this was a dream because i didn't automatically jump him. The party goes on, and i think some sort of sport thing was happening too, then someone has a life-sized FLYING GREAT WHITE SHARK toy with a propeller on the bottom and keeps harassing/terrorizing the guests. It flies over me, sending me low to the ground with its propeller nicking my hair, then leaves the party, grows in size and crashes into the Statue of Liberty. Screams of shock. I don't think it strange Liberty is on the main island just a block away from us. I think her crown crumbled and fell, maybe her face too. It doesn't matter because in a second it's like it never happened.
I'm about to leave the party when i realize my cellphone is missing. So i ask Sendhil and we start looking everywhere tho he gets ADD or something and leaves me alone. I remember i had gone thru the whole skyscraper earlier before getting to the roof, so i'll backtrack. Inside the whole building is like a fricken amusement park/museum. One area is an exact replica of that one historic place in England, Mary King's Close. Nope, no idea why. In another area some performers shoot across the room by laying on a plank attached to a fast conveyor belt and throw paintballs (i think) at a score board. Guests get to bet on where it'll hit.
Anyway, i'm searching aimlessly when i run into an employee asking if i need help. It's Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World. He takes me around everywhere looking for my cellphone. Finally, we go back to the roof which now has cubbie holes running along the edge. Sendhil (wine glass in hand) starts poking fun of Feeney's clothes (navy blue suit/uniform). I tell him to play nice while i check in a cubbie way down at ground level. Shoved all the way in the back is my phone, along with two others i say is my brother's and a stranger's, and some earbuds. It's now nighttime and everyone wants to go home so they're very happy when i tell them this.
SECOND DREAM: I went to Gatecon with my mother and brother. During check-in, i somehow already have MY keycard and insist i'd just been here and used it. Even dream!Me finds this confusing because we've just now arrived and the last time i'd been there was 2005. Obviously, my keycard isn't recognized by the desk and i'm trying to dig out my info in my Gatecon Reciept Folder. I do end up finding this amazing reciept saying i'd just been there and was indeed issued a keycard, then everyone is much more helpful and we're transferred over to an older man who i think i worked with at Verizon Wireless. He takes us to the courtyard of the hotel (bigger, grander, more awesome hotel than in reality) and gets us new keycards that work. For some reason they change into do-everything electronics that can be worn dangling off the wrist, so he takes a few minutes giving us a tutorial. (He tells my brother to throw away his Zune, X-Box and cellphone cuz this magic thing does it ALL.)
Sadly, these glorious mini marvels turn back into keycards, we thank him and walk back into the giant lobby. I guess time does a fast-forward cuz it's nighttime and i'm sleeping on a COT in said LOBBY. Making all the aggravation beforehand pointless? I assume my bro and mom were in the room. I try to sleep but can't because my brain is nagging at me to look at my hotel room number on my keycard. I dig in my luggage to grab it then lay back down and notice it's 90-something. 94, maybe. This keycard can also be worn dangling from your wrist (there's this huge worry everywhere about it being stolen) so i attach it and sleep.
I wake up and i dunno where my family is, but Mayhem is with me as we squee and bounce all over the hotel in preparations for the convention. In the dream i never know her as Mayhem--just Elizabeth--and she's been there with me before. I think i remember Cats (which would make more sense) and some other familiar faces around but didn't have any interaction. Looking thru my Gatecon booklet i notice there's a collage of all the things supposedly going on this year and at the very bottom is my DAD smiling at the camera, reclining on a couch with Elizabeth on his left side. Since it's a collage, his right side is pasted over with another photo but you can still see a teeny bit of me showing through. I immediately begin busting out laughing because there's a big "GATECON 2008" (or possibly 2009) at the top of it all. I decide to show this to a clerk behind a desk who shows absolutely no emotion the entire time.
"Look! That's my father who died in 2004! It says 2008! ...Am i the only one who finds this funny? ...Yes? Okay then." [ominous voice] "He was very attached to the place." (I was trying to suggest it's a ghost appearance) [laughs] "...No? I'll see you later."
I go to show Elizabeth, who i left sitting with a group of those mentioned familiar faces. "Look at this and tell me if you notice anything." Her only reaction is a surprised "Wow."
Quote Of The Day:
Bro: "You could have poured me milk!"
Me: "You weren't out here!"
Bro: "I was doing something!"
Me: "You were busy fucking Ben Affleck!"
Bro: "I... heh."
You probably had to be there.
