dangermousie shared a new comm the other day for dorama discussion:
dorama_chat. I agree that there doesn't really seem to be any good central place for people to talk about doramas on LJ, since the existing comms are fairly dead. Perhaps this one will see a little more activity? It would be nice..

koalathebear wrote a very nice post today called
Love in 3 different languages which discusses the words for love/like and their context in Mandarin, Cantonese and Japanese. This is very interesting for those of us dorama-lovers (who aren't so familiar with those languages) who wonder why the translations often say "I like you" instead of "I love you." :)
3. I'm just going to toss this one out, and hopefully I might persuade some of you to share. :) How did you get into doramas, JE and/or KAT-TUN? I really love to hear about everyone's different stories. Many of you
know mine already: I started with
Takuya Kimura and
his doramas, which led to
SMAP, which led to
KAT-TUN and
JE. I haven't looked back yet! I've met so many lovely people through these fandoms and learned and continue to learn a lot about culture along with all the fangirly squeeing.
So. Would anyone else like to share? Even if you think I already know...
ETA: I'm reading and enjoying everyone's stories. But um, just a note. Please DO NOT apologize for lengthiness...I'll sic my
Welcome Post on you, in which it clearly says that comments of any length are welcome. Long is good! So please, just write whatever you feel, and I'm happy...
