Yesterday... jessofthebugs came over early for her T'ai Chi lesson with poetheather. While they T'ai Chi-d, I sat chilling, catching up on a few minor things, woke River up and then sat with her untangling yarn and using cybermathwitch's really nifty yarn baller. It was a nice morning.

Okay, so I'm starting my weekend story with Friday. I have Fridays off from work and school this semester and have been doing my best to actually take that day off - as in not doing homework, not studying, not grading papers, not planning classes. It's weird. I haven't even lived in a house since I left my mom's in 1996, (except for the 5 months I rented a room from the Firefighter) and when I did live in my mom's house, even with the DA-ex and baby River, we didn't own it, mom did. We didn't do anything to it - at all. Oh, the DA mowed the lawn, and I did regular housework, but that's it ( Read more... )

Okay, so we got up at 8:40 this morning and basically threw clothes on and ran out the door. A quick stop at Home Depot for more paint, and we were on our way to Imladris (the new house - it's Elvish for Rivendell) to meet friends who were coming to help paint. Okay, so it seems that a lot is happening in a very short time, which I guess makes sense, considering the season. Spring changes the landscape every day (thinking about Malcom Reynolds now, landscapes, from 1st ep of Firefly and my Joss Whedon class) and that's what's happening here.

I don't want the weekend to be over. The University wasn't closed for Good Friday, but I didn't go in to work since I was feeling so crappy, so I kinda feel like I had a long weekend.
