Two big milestones for Catherine this weekend. Saturday, she had solid food for the first time. Rice cereal mixed with formula. And she took to it with gusto - so excited about it that she was swinging her arms around to the point where I had to hold them down in order to get the spoon to her mouth before she knocked it away. So the end is in sight for breastfeeding, I guess. At least, for full-time breastfeeding. We'll give her cereal at night from now on, and for breakfast at least once a weekend (so that I can actually sleep in). She goes to the pediatrician next week, and I'll have to ask about feeding schedules and such.
Then yesterday, she rolled all the way over for the first time - from her back to her tummy. She's come close before, but yesterday was the first time she made it all the way over.
She's getting big. Which is both good and sad - I miss the tiny baby! She's still very happy most of the time. Still sleeps through the night.
Her baptism is Friday, and she turns five months old next Monday.
