It is a truth universally acknowledged ...

... that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. (Duh!)

=)

I just got back from a lovely evening of seeing the new P&P movie (finally!) with my lovely friend Jennie. =D

The movie was much better than I expected. When I first saw the cast list I was very doubtful about any of them pulling it off, and especially Keira Knightley as Lizzy. I like Keira Knightley but she just didn't seem like the Lizzy type. However, she did a brilliant job, and Matthew MacFadyen was also excellent as Darcy (and hot, too...). It was also gorgeously shot~ I'm in love with the scenery! Of course, I already was in love with England, but it's always nice to be reminded of it's beauty. So, although I had my doubts when I first heard about it, the new P&P now has my full approval as a worthy adaptation. =)

After the movie we went to dinner at Carrow's because it's cheap-but-good food and neither of us had very much money. However, we had an alarming moment when the woman seated behind me started freaking out at the waiter about her chicken and how there was something on it that was freaking her out. Jennie and I looked at each other and then looked apprehensively at our chicken tenders. The waiter went to inquire of the cook what was on the chicken, and came back to say ... "They're capers." -_-;; Who doesn't know what capers are? Okay, I suppose a lot of people don't, but they certainly don't look alarming enough to freak out about. So that was amusing.

All in all, I had a beautiful Tuesday. ;)
