It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Last Friday we went to Santa Barbara's small and somewhat cheesy downtown holiday parade. It was fun. The grand marshall this year was Dennis Franz of buying all the black licorice at Sweet Alley fame (okay, most of you probably know him better from NYPD Blue). Anyway, we were standing next to these people who were fans of his ... supposedly. It's kind of questionable as to what kind of fans they were since they entirely missed him going by in the horse-drawn carriage at the beginning of the parade, and then proceeded to wonder among themselves (rather loudly) when he was going to make his appearance. The carriage even had a big sign on it with his name, and they still missed it. -_-; I think they finally figured out that they missed him, but not until more than halfway through the parade.
Then on Saturday we went Christmas shopping and did some decorating around the house. I am pleased because I have finished (or nearly so) shopping for the hardest people in my family (the family I don't live with). And I have some good ideas for other people. And even better I have COUPONS!! w00t! ^^; We haven't bought our tree yet, but I think we're doing that next weekend. We capped off our day of shopping on Saturday by watching Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Yes. It's sooo bad. Fortunately it's a MST3k movie, so it's actually quite funny. Heehee. I <3 MST3k. After that, we went for some better quality holiday fare and watched the Charlie Brown Christmas specials. Which, of course, are just so very good. =)
Okay, I should go because I'm actually supposed to be researching health insurance for me. Since I don't get any with my job and it's generally a good thing to have. =/ I don't like doing these adult kinds of things.
