This day ends together, far and away

Yesterday was a fantabulous day. :D I got to hang out with one of my best friends for about five hours. I don't get to see Brittany very often since she's either been in Santa Cruz or Germany for the past few years. So I don't see her nearly as often as I'd like to (although it was really cool to visit her in Berlin). But she and her boyfriend are in town this week, so we got to hang out yesterday. We had brunch at Jeanine's, which is a cute little bakery-cafe with super-yummy scones and muffins. Except it was insanely busy for a Tuesday morning, and they were mostly out of muffins and scones. =( Fortunately, they also have a mini-Jeanine's in a grocery store nearby, so we went there for our pastry fix. =) Then we went to a park and a bookstore. We just talked for hours. It's so wonderful to be able to talk with her in person and not just via email. Now she'll be starting grad school in Boston in a couple weeks, so I'm going to visit her there at some point in the fall or spring. It was so good to see her.

I got my new digital camera! Now I just have to figure out how to use it... And I have one more application to put in before I go on vacation. It's for a webdesign and publication job for one of the departments at UCSB. It sounds pretty good. But I probably don't have enough experience, having only really been in charge of one website of any significance. On the other hand, if I have less experience then they can pay me less, which they might like...
