busy as a bee

OMG, people, summer school sucks. D: Though, I haven't been to class yet, so hopefully that will be redeeming. But seriously, EVERYTHING on campus is CLOSED. All the food places (which, granted, are mostly gross fast food places) close by 3pm - and this includes all the COFFEE BARS so I cannot get my TEA FIX for my biweekly 3+ hour evening ( Read more... )

Oh I loved that class. Taylor is AWESOME. In fact my friend Betsy is in that class tonight. I talked it up so much I convinced her to take it.
It sounds like a lot of work when you just look at the syllabus, but really it wasn't. I had no trouble keeping up with the workload AND holding down my full time job.

Also yeah, summer on campus sucks monkey balls. There is a Starbucks in the UMUC building, but it's a hike just for a cup of tea.

Yay! That's good to hear! I was concerned by the dozens of articles to be read for each class, but she clarified that most of them are only a couple pages, so that's reassuring. Also, my copy of the textbook hasn't arrived yet (even though it said "in stock"), but Google Books has a preview, so I can do my homework reading, woo!

I was expecting things to maybe close at 5pm, but 3pm is LAME. What about all the poor souls with later classes? We can't be the only evening class!

Which book do you need because I still have mine and I'd be willing to loan it to you if you need it.
Not only are the articles all short, they're fast reads and most of them were pretty interesting. I could read them and write something up in an hour or less.

I hate that everything closes at three. I get off work at 5 and have to be in class from 5:30-8:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I'd like to be able to get something to eat. I learned last summer to make sure I packed a dinner.

Making the Match. We're just reading the intro for Wednesday and that's on Google, so I'm fine for that, but I haven't even got the shipment notification for the book yet, so that might be helpful!

I had an internship last summer, so I missed the joys of summer school last year. Which class are you taking?

Hey, just a warning, I discovered this semester that Google changes what's available in the preview from day to day! It's devious and slippery!

Ooh, that is devious! Thanks for the tip! At least it worked for the intro I had to read.
