Espionage & ¡asesinato!

Today I went out for a Washingtonian adventure! :) Since I moved here, I've only been to the places I'd already been on previous trips to the city (pretty much the only new place I went to last year was the MLK library and a couple Borders). So today I set out for a NEW destination: the International Spy Museum! It is on the pricey side ($18; but considering that it's pretty much the only museum in D.C. that you do have to pay admission for, it's doable), but very interesting. I spent four hours there. And I didn't even see everything. I pored over all the details for the first two hours, and then, because museums are tiring, I sped things up a bit but it still took me another two hours to make it out. :) They have all kinds of cool spy gadgets and spy stories and such. The random fact I can remember off the top of my head: the shredded files from the NSA are recycled into pulp used to make pizza boxes. All the pop culture exhibits were fun, too. There's so much to see! I'll have to go back again someday. It was pretty crowded and it's only January; my guidebook warns of the horrific crowds in the summer (I suspect I'm really not going to like summer here: insane amounts of people + really hot weather, not to mention all the dust on the Mall).

Also, I watched last night's episode of Psych (2x15 "Lights, Camera ... Homicidio") and it was so much fun! It made fun of telenovelas! With the insane scripts and the hyperdramatic acting and the crazy actors. Hee! :D Plus, this had the added benefit of really awful accents, especially Shawn. AND! They even redid the theme song in Spanish! I nearly died laughing when that came on. I love this show, it is so crazy-awesome funny. Man, sometimes I really wish I lived in the Psych version of Santa Barbara. They've got an awesome space center and a telenovela studio and all kinds of other cool things that the real SB doesn't have. But it still gives me giddy pleasure to see the city shots between scenes because, HOME. ♥

Oh man, now I really miss watching a telenovela.
