It turns out there is a benefit to the freezingness of air-conditioned buildings: it makes it possible to drink hot tea in the heat of summer. :)
I like iced tea (OMG I'm so addicted to Tazo iced teas and they don't have them in any of the grocery stores around here, just at Starbucks), but sometimes your mood just calls for hot tea. It's more comforting.
Yay tea. :)
In other news, I got a package (of books!) in the mail yesterday from wonderful Brittany. It was perfectly timed as my parents left yesterday and I was feeling rather melancholy. But now I have three intriguing books and the prospect of a visit soon. AND that package was also my first bit of mail here. :) I'm so happy my first mail was something personal, instead of just the ATM card I'm expecting from my new bank.
Tomorrow, I am planning my first attempt on public transportation (at the moment, it's a toss-up between whether it will just be the Uni Shuttle, or if I'll attempt the Metrobus). Destination: University of Maryland bookstore since tomorrow is the first day fall textbooks are available.
