Playing the Game (Castle, Beckett/Fallon Friendship)

Title: Playing the Game
Author: Wingsss
Rating: G/K
Summary: There’s an iPhone on Fallon’s desk in the morning. 211 words. (Beckett/Fallon, Friendship)
Warnings: Spoilers through 3x17, “Countdown” but nothing major. Details about Fallon’s private life are fabricated. I don’t own Castle.

Mark Fallon takes the weekend off. He never does this, and he means never. Something about sitting in his Spartan apartment and reading books all day long doesn’t really appeal to him. When he isn’t traveling, weekends are the bane of his existence. Mostly he takes his work home with him.

So, workaholic that he is, he is actually relieved to walk into his D.C. office on Monday morning. He gets a hero’s welcome on his way in. Apparently, news got back about the near disaster in New York. Also apparently, no one mentioned that basically he had nothing to do with solving the case. If it hadn’t been for Detective Beckett and her writer tag-along, Times Square would be dust right now.

It’s been that thought that was tormenting him all weekend. He was planning to park himself at his desk and bury himself in work until long past dark, but something made him stop. There was a little white box sitting next to his computer. He unwrapped the tissue, and honest to God laughed (when was the last time he did that?) when he saw what was inside-an iPhone. He took the lid off the box and a note fell out.

Thanks for playing, Fallon.
(For next time-so you don’t miss any important pictures.)
