I haven't updated in ages.  I've been lazy and overwhelmed and busy and had my mind on other things, and updating seemed unimportant for a while.  But it really is very important for me to keep writing in this journal to record what I'm going through.  So at Adena's urging I am finally putting the time into doing some writing.

Well I'm in hospital for the nausea once more.  It's the next day and I'm done puking and drinking apple juice, maybe tomorrow I can get home.

The big update for this visit is that we are going to try me on an almost all liquid diet.  Tube feeds tube feeds tube feeds.  The docs feel that it's important to try it and see if I can put on the weight I ( Read more... )

This closeness to the edge really inspires and energizes me sometimes.  Coming back from a bad infection or a painful nausea bout gives me this rush reminiscent of how I used to feel as a kid when running from angry farm animals.

I should be out of the hospital tomorrow!

December sure flew by. The first ten days were consumed by painful tests, followed by a short hospital stay, and then suddenly Phoebe was here. She arrived on the 12th and stayed to the 22nd. In my quest for a lung transplant, I flew to Toronto on the 10th of November. I left the home I love in Victoria BC, with my friends and my pets and my garden, behind. It all happened very suddenly.
