Hurricane Isabel

Ok, so I just discovered the existance of hurricane Isabel sitting in the Atlantic. Right now according to weather.com its 370 miles ENE of the Caicos Islands, at 23.7N 66.3W. This fucker has a good shot at landing on LI or on the Jersey shore sometime Friday morning. As of now, its a catagory 5 hurricane with winds of 155mph. And you know what? This fucker is getting me a little worried. Just for a little bit of history, in 1985 Hurricane Gloria made landfall on LI with winds of 85mph. The hurricane fell apart within an hour and the eye never even had time to make landfall. It was low tide when Gloria hit. Despite these "ideal" conditions for a hurricane to hit, the damage done to my area was incredible, power was out for a week, trees down everywhere, driving wasn't even an option. This was done by a Catagory 1 hurricane that fell apart as it came over. Suddenly when I think of a catagory 5 hurricane making the same trip, and possibly stay together, it makes my stomach turn. Good bye fire island, good bye the bay as I've known it, good bye south shore. I'm going to be watching this guy closely for the next week, and if, come thursday, its slated to land, fuck friday classes, I have bigger obligations. This is the first time I've ever been nervous over anything not relating to girls, presentions, schoolwork, etc. I mean it too. Yeah its a strange feeling. I'll keep updating this fucking thing as the week goes on.
