Finally. The update.

Before I launch into an explanation of my classes, I will say that my hangover is now gone and that I am functioning on a fairly normal level.  I'm still a little tired, but I'm not woozy if I move too fast and the world is a little better for it.  And this vast turn in health is all due to the handy dandy ready-to-eat macaroni and cheese cup!  Exciting.  I ate it and was completely normal.  But now--on to business.

I have had all but one of my classes, which is the lab that goes along with my biology.  It is also the only class I have this semester taught by a man.  Last semester, 4 out of my 5 classes were taught completely or partially--as was the case for PE--by men.  The point is that I am capable of giving a detailed first impression of all the important classes now.

Overall, all my classes are scary.  They all require a lot of detail and time to be put into the work and I'm not sure that I can handle 15 hours of course work.  I have been reassured by Eric however, that I can do it.  This is concerning to me because for one, $500 is riding on it, and for two, my GPA also depends on me getting as many A's and B's as possible.  But I'm ready.  I have a lot of free time between classes that I will be able to use to my advantage.

Dr. Meyers' Sociology of Gender class is going to be interesting.  The thing I'm most looking forward to--and dreading--is the assignment that requires us to create a new gender system.  Right now, we have a binary gender system.  We have to create a new one.  I'm interested because right now my mind cannot fathom such a thing.  There's male and female and "other" haha.  But I'm open-minded.  It will be interesting.  A major plus?  Dr. Meyers is a funny teacher.  Yay!

Dr. Lowney's Sociology of Religion will be my most interesting class.  It examines religion from a sociological perspective.  That's kind of hard for me to explain right now, but come back at the end of April and I should have something for you.  There is a major project in this class though and it made me consider dropping it because I will have at least 2 other major projects at around the same time.  But I'm thinking I'll get through it because I'm interested in it.

Biology.  It's science.  Enough said.  Luckily, there will only be tests.  Hooray for me.  I can't stand science, ugh.

My Perspectives class is called Female Heroes in Religion and Art and I'm not sure I like the teacher that much.  She seems kind of abrasive and blunt.  But the content should be interesting.  The only things I really have to worry about are small writing assignments.  A negative?  She's an English teacher which means I will have to be paying a lot more attention to how I write.  Boo.

My intro to women's studies class is going to be interesting too, but I already knew that.  There's a huge project in here as well.  Hopefully if I can figure out who I will interview as my crone then I may be able to get a head start on it.  As for other assignments, I'm not sure about their level of difficulty.  I hope that I can get a lot of extra credit.

So yes, I'm somewhat worried about how I manage my time.  I think the best technique to use will be just to stay on top of everything.  It used to be that I would do homework the day after I had that class, but now I try my best to do it on the same day.  Unless it's something that's due online.  Then I take a little more time, because it tends to be something that I can do anywhere and fairly quickly.

We'll seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

school, health
