"Hola mis amigos to friendly Mexico"
It's slightly odd that this song came through on my iTunes this morning before I headed to work, because at work we had planned a mini-Fiesta for one of our leaders that is moving on to a new role in Disney. It was really nice that the facilitators and DU Team came together and created a really nice get-together for him. One of my co-workers said to me, "maybe you should have been a party planner", ha, if they only knew the history of that statement, right? ;)
Our August schedule has been posted at work, and I actually have the same schedule every single week! It hasn't been that way right since I've started because people have been taking vacations and whatnot. We're in the midst of recruiting for Facilitators for the classes that go on at Disney University, so it's been neat to see that process, and starting next week we have auditions, so I am pretty excited to get to be a part of that! It is such a foreign idea that people would have to audition to be able to train a class, wish I would have thought of THAT earlier, it would have caused me much less work!
Duncan auditioned for Entertainment 2 days ago. He did it just to see how far he'd get and he made it to the end of the audition process. You don't find anything out at the end of the audition, they just tell you that they'll call you if they have a need for you and if you don't hear from them in 6 months, you can audition again. I think it would be fun for him to get a call, it's obviously not something to do for life, but how cool is it to say that you were?
That same day we went to go see Encore's presentation of "Finding Wonderland". Encore is a group that is made up of Disney Cast Members that perform shows for fun and the proceeds go to charity. I went to see if it seems like something I'd like to get involved in, and it seemed like a lot of fun, so perhaps next time around. :)
