Yesterday was our Team Day for the Operation Training Assistants at Disney University. We started off the day in Epcot for the Around the World Segway Tour. I had never done this experience before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was a little nervous because I didn't want to fall off, though I've wanted to try a Segway for forever so I was excited! :) We checked in and then headed to "Segway Central" where we got helmets and watched a safety video, and then they took us to the Segways and then made sure we were completely comfortable in using them before taking us out to the World Showcase. It was a tour, so we did have a tour guide that told us a little about each country and Walt's vision for World Showcase. In each country, we had an obstacle that we could try if we wanted like hills, etc. By the end, we were Segway experts. ;) One of the facilitators at Disney University told us that they were updating the tour very soon, so it will be an hour longer, making it more modern, and it will include breakfast, and it will be the same price! I will be checking that out since I get a 50% discount. ;)
We had lunch at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I was excited about that because it's something I've been wanting to try for a while. It's one of the locations where you get 40% at lunch. Since "Mickey" was paying for this, I wanted to try something a little more adventurous. I ended up getting this dish where you could pick 2 meats and then rice. I ended up with Butter Chicken, Durban Chicken, and Basmati Rice. I enjoyed it. It's not something that I'd likely get again, but it wasn't gross. I just more prefer plain food. I could go on and on about the rest of the meal but I don't want to make everyone hungry. ;) The cool part about it was that you are on the same level as the Savannah and you could see the giraffes and zebras right outside the windows. The restaurant decor was just so awesome too, it looks like you're sitting under a tree. <3 Disney themes!
We went over to Golden Oaks after lunch. Golden Oaks is a living community where you are able to buy (real expensive) houses. You purchase the land, and pretty much create your own house right on Disney property. The houses vary in style and prices, but the over all feel has a Italian Tuscany feel. So pretty, the decor inside these houses was also amazing. I took pictures but I'm not allowed to post them to Social Media, so if you're interested just ask me next time you see me. :) The roads are named very Disney-esque things like "Enchanted Oak" and "Dream Tree". They will have their own concierge services where the residents will be able to make dining/hotel reservations and buy tickets. Soon they will have their own transportation services that will take the residents to whichever park/resort they'd like. The perks are endless -- the residents get to go into the Holiday Services building which holds all the holiday decor for property and they get to choose what they'd like the decorators come set up at their houses! Unbelievable. I will never be that rich, but if any of my friends do, please let me live with you. ;)
