The paper that was due today ended up being pretty good, in my opinion. We'll see how the prof likes it. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that my women's studies background slips into English papers that have nothing to do, really, with women's issues. It really just happens, ya know? I had a long paragraph about patriarchy within the story. Leave it to me to point out patriarchy!!
I still need to figure out which text I should use for my paper due on Monday. I already know what fictional pieces I want to focus on, I just need to pick out which academic text would best back up my arguments. And this is for a women's studies class, so the paper will be relatively easy for me. And the pieces I picked out to focus on was a set of poems by a German author that are about abortion. I think finding out about German laws in regards to abortion would be most helpful in the paper. I also have a presention on the second third of The Joy Luck Club on Tuesday. If I do the reading this weekend, I can do the powerpoint Monday during my 3-hour break between classes.
As much as I hate school, it feels really good to accomplish something and feel like I did really well on it. The feeling I get when I'm proud of my work makes me want to continue my education. But, of course, getting up in the morning to go to a class I do not enjoy always brings me back down...ugh. Also, the thought of jumping right into grad school next fall after graduating in August is fucking scary.
I decided that since the summer will most likely be spent taking classes that I don't need, I might take first semester German or Italian.
Not sure of what's happening this weekend besides Jackie's bday party tomorrow night. My mind needs a break from thinking a lot tonight...haha.
