I've spent the rest of the summer doing very little. My time in Dubai was taken up by (in order of decreasing frequency)

1. Watching sequences of episodes of Arrested Development - hilarious show!
2. Treating Cleo the cat like my firstborn child
3. Reading - about Bad Science, Shi'i Islam, and killing mockingbirds

On my last Thursday in Dubai, the whole lot of us went to my Abeer's university, the American University of Sharjah (AUS) for their Global Day show. I worked at the school for a solid five days in the week after term finished. The whole idea of this job of a 'student associate' was beginning to get on my nerves because I was rarely given work and spent most of my time standing around. I'm back in Newcastle from Dubai. I landed in Heathrow early on Monday morning on a runway lined with snow and waited at the airport for a couple of hours before getting on the plane to Newcastle.
