Lifting the load

When Newcastle University made me the conditional offer, their conditions were that I get an A in both Biology and Chemistry.
So I wrote to them, telling them about how I might not do well in Biology because of the Omniscient One, Mr Adul Majeed and his teaching habits.

After a long long Easter break, they finally replied. Good news! They're saying that since I already have two As from last year - one in Physics and one in Math - I only need to get ONE A, either in Biology or Chemistry! Anybody wanna take a wild guess which one it'll be?

I'm so ecstatic about this.. because I was actually worried about getting an A in Biology. It's not that it's a tough subject. I can manage that, the teaching and the content is at my intelligence level and I can understand if taught properly. Were we taught properly? No. Not completely, at least. The stuff that Mrs Augustine taught, I understood well and I do well in those areas. But most of the things in Unit 5 that Mr Abdul Majeed taught - no, read word-to-word out of a loose sheet of notes - are a big blur to me. I nodded along in his classes because that's what satisfied him. Now without any written notes, I'm left with a pile of printed notes that he typed out [and included his bad bad grammar too!] and handed to us.. I dunno how far those will help.

I'll certainly work hard and try my best to get an A in Biolgoy, but even if I slip and fall and end up with a B, Newcastle might still confirm my place in the medical school.

Who'da man?! Who DA MAN?!
