New in town..

We packed our bags and set out towards the railway station, caught the 10:30 train to Brig, from Brig to Spiez [Shpee-etz] and from Spiez we reached Interlaken.

Interlaken is, as the name suggests, situated between two lakes: Lake Thunersee [or just Thun for short] and Lake Brienzersee. Interlaken is a medium-sized town [can you tell that I've been going to McDonald's too much?] whose trademark mountain is the big fat Mount Jungfrau [Yunn-fra-oh]... just like Matterhorn was the trademark mountain of Zermatt.
Which reminds me, I miss Zermatt so much. Mainly because everything was so near to the hotel, everything was a walking-distance away. And oddly, I also miss it because of Pizzalicious Boy. I think I'm in love with him.. or I have a very serious crush on him. I was mildly depressed for about an hour when we left Zermatt. Love at first sight? Hmmm...

Anyways, just like Zermatt was a very Christian town with crosses everywhere and Jesus hanging off mountains, Interlaken has an obsession with... wait for it... cows! And not even real cows, just with fake cows made of cardboard, or wood etc. And the cows stand in the weirdest of all places - on terraces, through buildings and such. I have yet to see one on the road.

After the pizza for lunch, which reminded me yet again of Pizzalicious Boy, I napped for a bit. In the evening, my uncle got us tea from the bar/restaurant downstairs. After downing the tea [read: tasteless hot water] which that rude waitress "made" for us, we went out for a walk. There wasn't much to do except watch ducks swim around or rubberneck while watching hotties go by.

We had dinner at this place called Spice India.. dinner was ok. We had cake before dinner, to celebrate Ammi's birthday. I think the baker added rum to the chocolate - there goes my vow of abstinence from alcohol! The cake tasted funny because of the rum and I made faces while eating it. I really don't enjoy having alcohol with anything I eat or drink. Especially stuff that stinks and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Papa got Ammi a pair of spectacles with maroon frames.. now Ammi looks like a Hollywood actress from the '70s. My brother, sister and I got her a photo of her's which my brother clicked, with Matterhorn in the background.

So today has been alright. I so wish I could go back to Zermatt to look at Pizzalicious Boy one last time. Gulp him in, you know?

Oh dear God, we're having an exciting hailstorm outside. The hailstones aren't so big, but they're big enough to knock you into a coma. I'm closing the windows of our room.

That's Lake Thunersee. The photo was taken on the way from Zermatt to Interlaken at Spiez.

That's the fake cow which is visible from our window.

That's the cow which is going through the building.

More random cows.

One of the ducks in the pond. Aren't its eyes a bit scary?

The place beside the big field on the main street.

I think the Swiss have a thing for bad-words. Kus means cunt in Arabic. But what's with the camel?

All photos courtesy of my brother.

That was our first day in Interlaken and our fourth day in Switzerland.
