So not 15 minutes after my last post wherein I discussed my propensity for traumatic injuries, Baby E takes after his mama and takes an epic dive into the metal front-door hinge. 2.5 hours, more blood than you'd think could possibly spew from the head of a tiny person, some glue-stitches and a trip to the ER later and I'm very much enjoying this ( Read more... )

I do a lot of things during the day, running from room to room. It never fails that every single time I take a break for myself and SIT down for the first time in hours, one or more of the following things will happen within 10 seconds of my ass hitting the couch/chair:

Sometimes I think the only reason pediatricians exist is to make me feel like a shitty mother. I am always really confident in my amazing parenting skills until I go for a regular check-up with the baby and realize what a piss-poor job I am doing.

Nurse: "Does he say 20-30 words?"

1. I have a Stage 5 Clinger on my hands, and I'm not talking Jersey Shore. Oh. My. God. My precious little angel turns into some sort of demon when I dare to do horrible, torturous, abusive things to him. This weekend I went to Memphis because I was helping to host my friend's baby shower. Hubs was SUPPOSED to come with me for one reason and one reason only, to take care of the kids so I could focus on being a party giver. I should have posted this on his birthday but I am a slacker, per usual. Anyway, Baby Ethan turned one on September 8th. We had his party on the 11th, which was kind of more depressing than I really bargained for, but it was ok. I just had to focus on the happy.
