Today work schedule was pretty uneventful. I mostly spent the day reading trashy celebrity news and waiting on 4:30p.m.! Once 4:30 did arrive Pat and I "bee-lined" to the grab ingredients for a fresh pizza we were making for some dinner guest. I love home made pizza it is so much better than any speciality pizza joint. And it is fun to make. It is definitely a tradition I look forward to sharing with future kiddos.
Any who, so this evening we attended the "Works on Paper" Art Exhibit at the university. We invited our fellow art lovers and friends, Mr. Starr and his wife, Mrs. Liz. They are actually our parents age (and a lot like our parents) so it is kind of cool (and sometimes familiarly awkward) hanging out with them. We really enjoyed their company and of course a good laugh was had be each of us several times. In fact their visit with kind of showed me how a circle our lives take. Pat and I are at the beginning of our lives together. Building careers, marriages, and a foundation for our family. We sometimes fall into the rut of work, home, work, home, work, home. IT SUCKS. I miss the footloose and fancy-free lifestyle we used to live. We were usually with friends, but now those same friends are doing the SAME THING AS US. I wish we all hung out like we used to. I feel a great longing for girl time, date nights and house visits until midnight. Mr. Starr and Mrs. Liz, all of their children are grown and well doing the same things as us and our friends...so they are taking on a new chapter of life together....kind of doing those things I dream of now, reliving our pasts....footloose and fancy-free. Just as older individuals. Weird huh? But also encouraging...knowing that our lives will some how return to that unscheduled-ness we all long for. Now of course there is lots of work in between these stages but there is hope!
OHMIGOODNESS, its 10:30p.m. and I am suppose to be at the gym at 5:45 a.m. GOOD NIGHT!
