Houston: My first recruiting Fair

Apr 19, 2011 14:20

Well this is it! I have travelled to my first out of state recruiting fair. Another recruiter and I are here in Houston, TX for the NACAC fair---over 300 universities and colleges (even international school) and around 5,000 students bused in to visit. It's a one stop shop for higher education. They have these all over the country...I think there is one in Baton Rouge for alternating years.
Right now I am sitting at the garden-park promenade. It is so NEAT! It is right across from our hotel ( Hilton of the Americas)

and it is so beautiful. They host several different events...even during the week.

Yesterday we had just came back from our dinner at the House of Blues...yummy!

And I look out our seventh floor window and saw a huge group of people doing ZUMBA!! How cool is that? The place the were exercising was along like little pond. And because the weather has been so amazing there was a great breeze...

I would love to do something like that!! We could definitely do that at Prien Lake Park or even downtown....I think so atleast! LOL
Another neat part is all the dogs. There is a little zone that is fenced off to let your dog off leash. Every time I see a little dog I wish I had EllieMae!

Back to the fair. We finished the morning session and tonight from 6:00-8:00pm we will work the evening session. I hope we get to eat a little something... Right now I am stuffed!!! Had a GIGANTIC wrap from this place called Freshii...super expensive! But pretty good. It was inside this little mall called The Shops. They had these incredible flower pots...I know I have one of these flowers but I can't think of the name.

I am sure Mom can tell me. Well I guess I am done with this post. Not much left to report. Talk to you LATER!
