Well since I am pretty much writing this to myself..I will not be friendly with all the "hellos" and "how are yous"....BLAH.
Today has been a pretty good day. Woke up, stretched, had a cup of our "emergency" coffee (we haven't gotten paid yet...so no Community.), breakfast, and then off to work. Then came all the coughing, choking, and sneezing. I really hate all this pollen. I mean you can anyone I LOVE PLANTS and planting them, but when it comes to allergies..it sucks! :( Feeling much better now though just had to get through those first few hours of UGH!
There wasn't much on the work calendar for me today. No tours...just answering phones. Still LOVING my job. So much better than the crap I had to deal with just over a month ago. I can not believe it has only been a month! It feels like I have been here so much longer! Everyone is so nice and helpful. AND my boss actually gave my an appreciation card last week. It is nice to have a boss that appreciates you and actually tells you!
Anyways...back to today. I was getting ready to head to lunch when an "unexpected" tour shows up. It was actually a family that was scheduled for 2:00 p.m....they showed up at 11:30 a.m.! Well, it was Jessica's tour and she was out to lunch...so Braylon and I did a "rock-paper-scissors" game of it (not really) and I ended up taking it. Girl was a junior interested in Chemical Engineering. Braylon secured our appointment with one of our professors here (DESCRIPTION: short, Greek, and hairy) so we headed over. Little did I know we would not be walking out of that building until an hour and 38 minutes later!! GEEZ-LOUISE! Phew...I could have squeezed his little Greek head off...but I guess it did get me out of the office, therefore making my day go by quicker...SO THANKS MY BIG GREEK TOUR GUIDE! :) LOL
Things coming up this week I am looking forward to. Tomorrow Lindsay and I are meeting to talk about the book we read "The Help". It was such an amazing book. I really love all the characters, the plot and the ending. I do wish it would have continued on. I could have read for another month!! So we will discuss it at great lengths tomorrow over coffee. Not sure if you know this but Lindsay and I are part of our very on book club. It only happens every blue moon so I have so deemed it the "The Impromptu Book Club". Yesterday I was SUPER bored so I made a logo for it.
It is nothing fancy but I like it. I think I am going to make Lindsay and I a bookmark...just for LAUGHS!
Another thing I am looking forward to is this Thursday McNeese State University will host its "Works On Paper" at the Art Department. Pat and I enjoy attending these things: Number One-we get to hang out with all the cool art people and Number Two-they usually have free food! We've invited Mr. Starr and his wife, Mrs. Liz, to go with us. We haven't seen them since Mardi Gras break. And this time we will actually get to visit (we went to see Rango last time-not too much visiting happening then) So after wards they are going to come over to our house for coffee. Good times.
Yup, Life is Good these past several weeks. And there is only one person to thank for that. GOD. Praise the Lord for all these blessings and for the rest to come!
