It is, I am reliably informed, very sad that my idea of a fun evening is pottering about adding more of our books to LibraryThing after I've spent the day at work. In a library.

Periodically I have these bursts of enthusiasm and add another bookshelf to LibraryThing, one of these days I will have added all our books. :-)

I'm reading a very enjoyable historical crime novel at the moment, The Death Maze by Ariana Franklin. It's the second in a series featuring Adelia Aguilar, a graduate of the School of Medicine in Salerno, set in 12th century England. Finished Harry Potter. Now David can have it so we can discuss it when he's finished. Our child has been left to her own entertainment devices - though I did offer to read her bits of the book aloud ;-)

He had bought it for me by the time I got up this morning and kindly left me read it first. He did read the last word but not the ending.

Recently our Bok of the Month collection caught my eye so I borrowed a copy of the book. It's by Christie DickasonThe Firemaster's Mistrsss. I've had it at home for a couple of weeks now so when I finished reading another book the other night I started this. I have taken this week off as annual leave as it's Roisin's birthday on Friday. Not that I really needed an excuse, it was feeling like time for a break and a getaway from work for a little while. Looking back at the books I've recorded reading this year, I notice I'm in a bit of a rut. Or more accurately, I've almost exclusively read fiction. The vast majority of that is crime fiction, but that doesn't bother me as it is my favourite genre and it's useful for work to have a wide knowledge of a genre.
