Ben was four and decided that he was going to make breakfast for his daddy. Mommy and Daddy were still asleep, so Ben was in the kitchen by himself, using the chair to get the things from up really high.
But he couldn't use the thing Mommy cooked on. She always told him no. So he was going to make Daddy a breakfast from the cereal on top of the fridge. The Cheerios were Alec's, so he couldn't use those. But Daddy liked to eat the chocolate balls so he got that box and well, it fell onto the floor. So he first scooped all the balls back into the box, then poured a bowl of them in the plastic kitten bowl.
And you can't have cereal without milk, so Ben grabbed the carton of the milk and carried it carefully to the table so he could pour it over the bowl. Sure, most of it ended up on the table but he got enough in the bowl too.
The tray for the livingroom was on the chair and he carefully put the bowl on it - no sloshing it too much - and then grabbed a can of beer and the last slice of pie from the fridge and put it on the tray as well because they were also daddy's favorite foods.
Up the stairs he went, opening the door to his parent's room and he put the tray right on Daddy's table before jumping up in the bed with him.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!" Ben said with a bright smile, nearly sitting on his stomach.
