Gramps had a large stack of both TRUE and ESQUIRE magazines and only a few PLAYBOYs from the '50s and '60s that I inherited, skimmed and later disposed of. One risqué cartoon stands out: A couple on their wedding night are in bed, unclad, and um, ready, but the bride is rigid with fear. Her body is literally stiff as a board with her weight resting only on her neck as her groom kneels at her feet, holding both ankles in the air that will not separate. He says something like, "Honey, you really need to relax," although I'm unsure about the dialogue.
It's way too much to expect that someone here remembers the cartoon, but is there an archive of either magazine's cartoons online? Thanks very much for any help.
