Trying to remember a recent alt/rock song?
Trying to place a song. Alt/rock, male band. Released 2005-2012ish. I remember 90% of the song having this sing-songy quality in the vocal. The music is more mellow (almost creepy but not *quite*), but is not acoustic either. Then there's a pause, and the last 1-2 minutes of the track is this breakdown that starts with a killer bass riff and the drums kick in. I don't remember if the breakdown has lyrics, but it might. The breakdown is loud; complete 180 from the rest of the tack.
I was listening to 'Inhaler' by Foals and it reminded me of this song.
It's not 'Lazy Eye' by Silversun Pickups. It's similar to 'There Goes The Fear' by The Doves, but more melancholy. I feel like the band who recorded it would be named in the same breath as Modest Mouse or The Shins, style wise. idk idk.
