Self-service stand in a coffee shop
Hey guys,
I'm writing a story, and I'm drawing a total blank on something. What would you call the counter in a coffee shop where customers can add sugar/cinnamon/milk to their own coffee? I found a reference to a "self-service stand" on one site; is that the generic term, or is there another name?
I hardly ever drink coffee when I'm out, and googling didn't tell me much. If it helps, the coffee shop in my story is an independent one in Hawaii, not part of a chain like Starbucks - and the POV character is a regular and not an employee.
