Kind of a strange request, but, a few years back - probably around '09 or '10 - I used to get a specific brand of coffee at my local natural foods store. They don't seem to carry it, anymore, and I would like to find it again, but I cannot, for the life of me, recall the brand. Here is what I remember.
01. The brand had the word "Brothers" in the title - like, _______ Bros. Coffee, but it was neither Dunn Brothers, nor Farmer Brothers. I want to say that it was an Irish name, like Fitzgerald Brothers, or something, (though I've looked that up and found nothing), but I might just be thinking that because...
02. A lot of their blend names referenced Ireland in some way. One I recall in particular was "Nutty Irishman," but that is apparently a common blend name, because when I googled that, several other brands - like Baronet and Coffee Masters - came up, and none of them are the brand I'm looking for. I don't recall any other product names, other than that they were usually punny and kind of cheeky.
03. They did a lot of weird blends. One was some sort of "wake up"/hangover-cure blend that included either black pepper or chili powder. I'm pretty sure they also had a seasonal eggnog blend.
04. The coffee came pre-ground in shiny gold bags with black graphics, but was also available as bulk beans, and I'm fairly certain that it was fair-trade and/or organic.
I live in New York, if that helps, but I'm not sure if it was a local brand. Maybe northeast regional? Sound familiar to anyone?
EDIT: Found!
Pierce Bros. Coffee Roasters. Thanks so much!
