A book about a woman who says she's God

I've been trying to remember the name of this book for years, and can never seem to Google the right selection of words to figure out what it is. I read it in '95 or so, and I want to say it was only a few years old at the time. I'm pretty sure it's told in first person, maybe even as some kind of journal the male main character is keeping.
