I can't think of the name of this band. It was around 5 years ago, and this band had been recommended to me along with Death Cab For Cutie. It stood out to me because both bands had weird names. This band used have a video that was played on MTV2's "Subterranean" show a lot. They had a female singer, and I think she may have had short-ish red ( Read more... )

not to be the loser who says so, but i just think it's kinda funny that "pretty girls make graves" would ever come off as a weird or unusual name. you do know that's a smiths reference... right?

there are... a lot? sadly? what comes to mind is panic at the disco (i'm guessing this is the one you mean), though there was actually a GREAT farcey brit-pop outfit called the ordinary boys, but they broke up last year -- they sort of made me want to quit my job every time i listened to them.

hah, just so you know, wikipedia informs me these guys (panic) have attributed their name to the lyrics of some other no-name band, but i think that's a pretty hard hit to miss. even if the joke is third-partied, i'm not convinced!

The band Shakespear's Sister's name is also a Smiths reference.
