I'm translating an essay which is talking about "radical punk rock lyrics" and gave part of a song as an example. I'd like to use the real English lyrics instead of my translation, but the author doesn't credit the band and I can't find it by googling my translation.
I am an anarchist
I am anti-Christian/ the anti-Christ
I want to destroy
I want to completely demolish lots of things
Cause I wanna be anarchy
I will do what's best for me
That is for me to be anarchy
The lines I've italicized are in the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK" but the rest... aren't. Did the author just make them up? Or does anyone know another song with similar lyrics? Thanks so much!
Figured it out! If anyone cares, the author translated Sex Pistols lyrics into "nice-guy speak" and that's why they sound so weird. Later in the article, he has the actual lyrics, in regular-dude speak.
Thanks for trying!
