-CHAPTER 41-
I didn’t go to school for a whole week. I decided to call in sick because I don’t think I could face Yunho once I’m in school.
It’s so childish. It’s such a bad reason, but it’s true and I can’t do anything about it. I wish I could, I really do.
I still don’t really know how Yunho managed to make me feel so bad about myself, but I just knew that seeing him would make me feel worse. I couldn’t take that chance.
I didn’t check my phone during the whole week either neither did I open the door to anybody. I wanted to be alone.
Sigh.
I guess I’m just feeling too hopeless.
Tonight, as I couldn’t stand sitting all day watching TV anymore, I decided to check my phone.
Ten missed calls from Junsu, four from Changmin, five from IU, one from Euna, one from Siwon, sixty from Heechul and zero from him.
I had a lot of messages in my voicemail too.
I listened to Junsu’s first.
“Hyung! Guess what?! Today Yoochun brought me to play soccer with him! It was really fun! Hope you’re doing better!”
“Hyung! Yoochun is actually really nice, did you know? Apparently, he finds me really funny!”
Junsu’s messages made me smile.
“Hyung, where are you? Are you okay? Can I visit you? There’s a road trip next week, are you coming?”
“Hyung, I’m outside, are you there?”
“Hyung, you’re really scaring me! Please call me back!!”
I then went on and listened to Changmin’s and IU’s message. They both had one each.
Changmin. “Hyung, I know that you’re there. Whatever is happening with you, just call us as soon as you feel okay enough to, okay? There’s a road trip next week, by the way.”
IU. “Jaejoong, feeling better? I really hope you do. We all miss you already. Just don’t mind about that ungrateful Yunho anymore! Come back and I’m sure you’d feel better with us around! Who needs him right? There’s a road trip next week and he’s not going! You should come and have fun with us!”
Euna. “Jaejoong-sshi! What’s going on with you? I’m worried to death! Please come back to school! We have to go on a road trip next week and Yunho’s not coming, are you going to come at least?”
Siwon. “Jaejoong-sshi! How are you doing? Heechul told me that you’re sick. That’s too bad! I thought you could help me with some math problems this week! Get well soon! God bless you!”
Heechul. “Hey, hey, hey, guess who~?”
“It’s me, The Fabulous~~!!!”
“Missed me? Of course you did”
“Um, like why aren’t you replying?”
“Don’t you know that ignoring somebody is rude and totally unfabulous?”
“I just checked with the principal. So you’re sick, huh? Unfabulous much. I guess you’d have to be sick to not answer my calls, ahahaha!~ ~ “
“Still not picking up? Ok, I’ll get straight to the point. You know that road trip? I know, ew. I hope you’re going cuz I need help to get together with Siwon. It’s the perfect opportunity! I’m a genius!~”
“I still can’t over how much of a genius I am, ahahaha~!”
“Um, are you like, dead or sumtin’? Cause that’s totally not hot…”
“Hurry up and get better! I bet your hair looks like unfabulous shit now, ew. I can already imagine it!”
. . . . . . . . . . . .
I just kept listening to Heechul’s messages. Before I knew it, I was laughing by myself in my empty apartment.
~ ~ ~
You know what? IU is right.
I bet Yunho is having the time of his being the king of the world at this moment.
I might still feel like crap because of him, but there’s no way he’s going to win at this. Who the hell is he to have such an impact on me? A jerk, that’s who.
I don’t even care about that fucking son of a bitch of Yunho anymore. He’s such a douchebag! Douche, douche, douuuuuuche!
I felt like tearing something apart right now.
Yes, okay. So I kind of ruined Yunho’s romantic moment with Euna by being there accidentally. But it was accidental! Besides, I was the one who got them together! Shouldn’t he at least be slightly grateful to me?
If anybody should be mad, it should be me! And in fact, I am mad!
And what is “I never thought you were that kind of person…” supposed to mean? How am I supposed to know what “kind” of person I am?
There are so many things that he did wrong that if I continue to think about him, my head will probably explode. Ugh. I need distraction, lots of it.
I picked up my phone and dialled a number. The caller picked up after only one ring.
“Hey Heechul, wassup?”
~ ~ ~
“Oh, it’s about time that you came, I mean, you’re a mess, dear!~” Heechul said to me, right after he saw me.
“Yep, that’s right…” I said without any energy.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk… you neglected your hair just because you were sick?” Heechul said, disappointed.
“Why would I do my hair if nobody’s going to see it?”
“Because it’s more fabulous that way” he said as if he thinks that being “fabulous” is a good enough reason for everything in life.
“Whatever…” I said as we walked towards his personal hair salon “… so how are things going with Siwon?” I asked out of curiosity. He gave me a sly grin right after I asked the question.
“I knew you’d ask” he said and then started laughing like a retard. I just waited for him to finish.
He eventually stopped and looked at me suggestively.
…
“What?” I asked, getting impatient.
“He’s coming over today!” Heechul said in glee and started hopping in his spot.
“…today...? H-here?” I asked. I’m not a person who usually stutters, but it surprises me to no end what this Heechul can pull off.
The other thing that made me stutter is the fact that this was a very, very bad idea.
~ ~ ~
Heechul was waiting at his doorstep like a freak.
“Heechul… not to criticize you or anything, but I don’t think this is a good idea…”
He glared at me.
“What do you mean not a good idea? It’s fabulous! Don’t question The fabulous, darling~” he said and dismissed me with his hand. Okay…
“Yes… but don’t you think that all these… house servants… are a little bit much…?” I said, gesturing to the pack of half-naked-weird-clothed men around us, ready to greet the supposed lover of Heechul. Which he’s not really. I mean, c’mon. Siwon? Nahhhhh
“Why?” Heechul asked, not seeing any problem in having all these guys around.
Well… if you’re going to talk to Heechul, I guess you should speak his language then…
“You know… with all these um… good looking muscular guys around, don’t you think that Siwon might…you know…” I said, trying to see what kind of reaction Heechul might have to this.
“What…? He might what…?” Heechul said, panicking a little.
“Well… maybe he might like one of them?” I said, making my face slightly squinted so that he could see where I’m going with this.
“Ha! That’s impossible! I’m the sexiest one in this house! He wouldn’t be able to resist me, haha, hahahaha!” he said with full confidence. Ugh.
“Yeah, but you never know. He might like the more manly type of guys…” I said, just as a random thought. Silence. He looked at me with a terrified expression.
The next thing I know, we were the two only people left in front of his door.
“Okay… that was fast…” I said to Heechul who was looking around making sure that there was absolutely nobody around except me and him.
Phew.
The doorbell rung and Heechul sprung to the door, but I grabbed him and pulled him back. The sound that his doorbell makes sounds like Heechul saying the words “ding dong”. Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s Heechul’s voice.
“What are you doing?! He’s here!” Heechul snapped at me, trying to free himself and rush for the door. I looked at him disapprovingly.
“If you do it like this, the only thing that you’ll manage is to make yourself look like a freak” I told him.
“Me? A freak? Well I, hmph, …” he said between disbelieving laughs. I raised an eyebrow at him and then he decided to obey. We let it ring another time before I let go of Heechul who ran to the door like a wild hound.
“Hello!” He said, opening the door and throwing his arms in the air. I face palmed myself.
“Hello” Siwon said, bowing “wow, you’re house sure is colourful!” Siwon said and Heechul invited him in.
“Oh, hello Jaejoong-sshi” Siwon said when he noticed me and bowed to me. I did the same. Siwon was wearing a casual dress shirt and black pants. His first button is tied and he has a little bow tie too.
As Siwon came in, he discreetly looked around. He probably saw the statues of naked men already. I wonder what he thinks about this place so far.
He doesn’t look very afraid…so maybe God is with him?
“Oh! Heechul-sshi, is that you?” Siwon said, pointing at the large painting of Heechul on the wall. In the painting, Heechul was doing a suggestive pose, with a suggestive face, with suggestive clothing.
“Well yes! That’s me alright!” Heechul said proudly “you like it?”
Siwon looked at it for a few seconds and then nodded.
“It’s a very nice painting. The colors are very well balanced and it has a lot of dept to it. Who’s the painter?” he asked. I was flabbergasted at how Siwon could look at that picture and only judge its artistic values. I mean, c’mon! That painting is Heechul! And he looks practically like a girl! A whorish one at that!
We continued visiting the house. Siwon kept on looking around and nodding with insight.
“Heechul-sshi, are you into modern architecture?” Siwon asked and Heechul seemed surprised at the question.
“Um… no… but I’m into hairstyling and cosmetics! Oh and fashion too!” Heechul said, trying to make up not knowing modern architecture with knowing hairstyling, cosmetics and fashion. This is kind of funny…
“Oh…so you like to cut hair?” Siwon said unsurely “…um… what kind of hair?” he asked.
I held in a laughter. I don’t think Siwon knows what it implies for a man to be into hairstyling, cosmetics, and fashion.
“Well all kinds of hair! Would you like me to cut your hair?” Heechul asked, eyes sparkling. Siwon looked at me, as if asking if he should do it. I made a face at him to tell him not to do it. After all, who knows what kind of funky hairstyle Heechul could come up with?
“Okay, sure!” Siwon said. Oh damn! Maybe I didn’t do my face right? Or maybe he’s just too nice for his own good…?
Oh well, his loss…
~ ~ ~
Siwon’s haircut ended up being very sexy actually. It was short, but very slick. Spiked, messy and slightly leaning on the side.
“Well? What do you think?” Heechul said proudly.
“Oh…” Siwon said, looking at his hair, thinking.
For every second that passed, Heechul looked more worried.
“I like it! It looks really good!” Siwon suddenly said, a bright smile on his face “Thanks Heechul-sshi!”
I can’t believe this… Siwon is actually totally fine with everything about Heechul? Woah…
Hearing Siwon’s praising words, Heechul became all unicorns and rainbows again as his worried expression washed away.

After a while, the three of us ended on the couch, beanbag couches -colourful ones- to be precise and watched a movie. It was a horror movie about this crazy guy who breaks into people’s houses and kills them.
The movie is at the part where the victim is looking around her house; her stuff are everywhere on the floor and her furniture is ransacked.
She walks forwards… the creepy music starts… and… BAM!
A high pitched scream was heard.
Oh shit! That scared the shit out of me! I looked at the person next to me.
It was friggin Heechul who screamed. He’s now clung onto Siwon. Ugh… I’m not scared anymore… they’re ruining the movie for me.
“Oh Siwon-sshi~ ~How can you be sooooo courageous?” Heechul said in a whiny way that disgusted me. It disgusted me more than the limbs flying on the screen.
I mean… he should at least keep a little bit of manliness shouldn’t he? I mean look at Junsu, he’s manly sometimes!
“As long as I know that God is with me, I am not scared of anything” Siwon stated matter-of-factly. Wow, strong faith, this dude.
“Wow! You’re so manly~ ~ ~!” Heechul said and there was another gore scene. “Oh!! I’m so scared!!!” he said again, this time pretty fake.
Something gives me the impression that Heechul probably laughs his ass off when watching these movies alone.
“Jaejoong-sshi…” Heechul said to me in a low, seductive voice. It gave me shudders.
“What?” I said sharply.
“Could you go get some drinks, please~?” he said and gave me a stare. I raised an eyebrow, not getting what he was trying to pull, but when he gesture me to go to the door with his eyes, I got the message.
“Oh, okay…” I said and got up to get some drinks, or rather, give them some alone time.
~ ~ ~
I fiddled around in the kitchen and fixed -it was actually Heechul’s man servants that did everything for me- a tray of drinks. I waited around for a while, chatting with one of them.
“Yeah, the job is kind of weird at the beginning, but you get used to it” the guy said in a quite manly way.
“Oh…” I didn’t know if I should ask “…you gay?”
The guy chuckled.
“I’m bi” he said simply “but I’m thinking that the more time I spend working here, the gayer I get” he said with a laugh and I did too. I almost forgot that there were bi people in the world.
It makes me wonder who could be…
“Well, nice chatting with, but I think I better get back to Mr. Fabulous before he does something too crazy” I told him with a smile and he smiled too, but a little awkwardly. Strange, did his blush makeup get darker in color? Must just be me.
“Alright, see ya man” he said, trying to pull off a somewhat cool wave.
“Oh, I’m sure you will. Heechul is kind of paranoid” I said and left with my tray of drinks.
As I walked back to Heechul’s movie room, I stared around, amazed by all of the colors. Then, I heard footsteps approaching at a very quick pace. I looked up just in time to see somebody sprinting towards me and bumping into me, nearly making me drop my tray. I’m glad I’m not clumsy.
The person then quickly bowed and when he got up, I noticed that it was Siwon with a very frightened expression. It looks as if a lion was chasing after him or something.
“Jaejoong-sshi! D-do you know that- that-“he said, panting.
“What…? Calm down Siwon…” I said, looking at him with one eyebrow raised.
“Heechul- he… he…” Siwon said, out of breath.
“What? Did something happen to Heechul?” I said, a little bit in panic, did the guy kill himself after being rejected or something?
“He- he…. He’s gay!” Siwon said as if it was the most terrible thing in the world and I would have laughed at him if he didn’t look so terrified.
“Um…” I said, trying to avoid his glare.
“Y-You knew? Jaejoong-sshi!” Siwon said, grabbing my shoulder and making me turn towards him “Jaejoong-sshi, you knew?!”
“Well, I thought that the rainbowness of his house was a dead giveaway… that and the male servants, the weird fashion, the girlishness, the particular hobbies, the statues of-“
“Oh my God!” Siwon seems to have said this actually to God, not me.
“Siwon-sshi~~~~~~~~!” a voice came echoing. Siwon stared at me, eyes wide open, his face terrified.
“Um… the exit is that way…” I said, pointing the direction out for him. He thanked me with a bow and quickly made a run for it.
“Siwon-sshi!!!!!~~~” Heechul yelled as he ran passed me.
I was left there in the colourful corridor.
By myself.
Holding a tray of juice.
