clothing theft is a serious problem in the big bang hostel. and that’s why seunghyun is in the closet.
last_imperatrix uses big bang’s habit of “borrowing” clothes from each other as a device here. it’s a nice one that’s well-suited to the todae pairing. another thing i liked about this fic, and this author’s writing in general is the tone. it’s confident and smooth, especially with how seunghyun and daesung’s characters are handled. the conclusion, in particular, was a tricky one, but last_imperatrix wrote it in a way that seemed perfectly in sync with the rest of the fic.

a priest and a beggar walk into a bar.
the disparity between taeyang the entertainer and youngbae the person is played upon nicely here. the turns of phrase employed by lovelyable are enjoyable without trying too hard, and the relationship between youngbae and seungri is unfolded in a way that reads very naturally. the details scattered throughout add to the piece instead of detract, and the glimpses we see of the other members are a nice touch.

i liked the way gdgdbaby handled this, with an honest but delicate grip on the things jiyong was perhaps going through and the feelings he may have had. the song is a nice complement to the fic, and i especially like how the ending has an unexpected, but very realistic (and minimalistic) optimism--but how it isn't provided by jiyong, but by the people who love and support him. it's a nice contrast to jiyong's solitude that dominates the rest of the fic.

in utter contrast to gdgdbaby's delicate handling of jiyong's situation and a hopeful ending is jandi's blunt take on jiyong's same situation. there is no bright tomorrow in this fic, only the dreary present. however, the angst is beautifully written with a thoughtful "drowning" motif that is there without dragging down flow. the short scenes are poignant, and let the reader see into jiyong's tumultuous emotions, his satisfaction and listlessness, ache to be better and not knowing how to be. the last line is particularly haunting.

i've never really liked things like twitterfic, or IM-fic, but this one was hilarious and not your typical, plotless, try-too-hard-to-be-funny chatfic. preorder tends to exaggerate big bang's characteristics in her crack!fic but it works out for the better, and i enjoyed jiyong's "team meetings" and how he even gives the meetings names. the characters' screen names are thought-out and cute. it will definitely make you laugh!

seungri forces top to watch a certain video clip where f.t. island's guitarist confesses his true feelings.
i admittedly don’t know much about f.t. island, but envoler’s writing carried me through the piece. what i enjoyed was how the writer was able to balance the humorous with the sensual, especially towards the end. the text messages scattered throughout showed so much of the respective members’ personalities. i felt that top was perhaps a little more suave than i see him, but it isn’t to the point where he’s completely unbelievable as a character; it was actually nice to see him carrying himself this way. jonghun was jittery and jumpy and adorable, and the portrayal of him in this fic made me want to learn more about him and f.t. island as a group.

a peek into yg family and other celebrities lives as told on facebook. in which kwon jiyong and choi seunghyun are no longer in a relationship, park sandara is an enthusiastic pervert, dong youngbae gets drunk, park teddy rescues a cone instead of kim kush, lee seungri gets denied, and choice 37 keeps declining invitations to farmville.
i think this fic really speaks for itself! facebook!fic has seen its run of the mill around fandom but i think the trio handled this cleverly. the fic actually has a plot that keeps it moving forward, and each character has their own personality, which is a hard feat to pull off when you're dealing with 20+ characters. i appreciated how the undercurrent of the fic was still semi-serious, but there was enough humor going on that you can ignore it if you want. definitely worth the read if you want to laugh (because god knows this had me in stitches by the end).

junsu meets his ultimate fanboy, seungri. jokes about statutory rape ensue.
i was very excited to find this; finally, some longfic!
i didn’t mind that some of the big bang members were slightly out-of-character in this, because the traits that were there were enough, and it features seungri, who we all know and love as the overenthusiastic, kind of devious maknae :D. his admiration for dong bang shin ki’s xiah junsu is something almost every big bang fan knows as well, and it’s very fun watching him agonize over making moves to further his relationship with him. it was a treat reading scribete’s portrayals of dbsk, as well; jaejoong and changmin in particular were hilarious. this fic didn’t feel long to me at all; in fact, as soon as i was finished, i went back and read the sequel.
