A Daring Move
“So, we heard the chaperone coming and as we were getting dressed, he zipped his pants a little too fast. So that’s why I had to drive my prom date to the ER.” Meredith finished.
Christina, George, Izzie and Alex all broke out into laughter. The interns were hanging out at Meredith’s place, eating pizza and watching Ellis Grey’s old surgery tapes. When they’d gotten bored of the surgery, the five decided to play a game of Truth or Dare.
“Kay, so Izzie, truth or dare?” Meredith queried.
“I’ll take the dare” Izzie confidently replied.
“Fine. You know how you baked a dozen chocolate chip cookies this morning? I dare you to eat all of them!”
“Come on Mer, I’m so full from the pizza!”
Christina snorted “Typical. The pretty ones never do eat. I wish I could do that,” she continued as she reached for another slice of pizza
“You know, you really aren’t doing much to kill the whole Dr. Model thing by whining about it?” Alex smartly interjected.
“Fine then.” Izzie went into the kitchen and brought a plateful of cookies into the living room. She downed the cookies in less than ten minutes and licked her fingers clean before turning to face George.
“So George, truth or dare?” Izzie asked.
Christina jumped in before George could reply. “Why bother asking, Izzie? We all know Bambi going pick truth.”
George’s eyebrows furrowed as his eyes wandered over the group “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Well George, it’s just that you’re Mr. Reliable Nice Guy. And reliable nice guys are predictable, they don’t really do anything wild or crazy or spontaneous….” Meredith trailed off
Izzie jumped to her rescue quickly “Not that there’s anything wrong with being predictable. I mean, girls love a reliable guy who’s always there.”
Christina snorted once again. “Yeah, girls who haven’t had hot unpredictable sex.”
Izzie pondered Christina’s statement for a minute. She broke out into a smile and small giggle as she replied, “Yeah, you’re right, random sex is always good.”
George threw his hands up in frustration. “I am not an ordinary guy!! I do random things sometimes!!”
Alex’s eyebrows shot up. “Really O’Malley? Like what?”
“Well,” George started “one time, in high school, this girl… she asked to me pretend to be her boyfriend at a party. So well, I did, and we made out for like 5 minutes!! ”
Alex still looked skeptical “Uh huh. Did you know this chick? And why did you agree to be her boyfriend?”
“Well you see her boyfriend cheated on her so they broke up and she was…well she looked so sad…and some kids were giving her a hard time…and I couldn’t say no…”
Meredith gave George a puzzled look. “So in other words,” she slowly replied “you did it just to be a nice guy. The guy who’s consistently kind.”
George frowned slightly. He suddenly perked up as a thought occurred to him. “Well I’m bisexual. How could anyone possibly suspect that?”
“Well I guess that counts…..” Izzie pondered aloud. George smiled in triumph.
“Only because we thought you’d be completely gay” Alex snickered. George’s smile quickly turned into a frown.
“Well if it’s crazy you want, I’ll give you crazy. Give me a dare Izzie.”
“Okay…..” Izzie became quiet as she thought of a dare. An idea hit her and she suddenly looked up. “Okay, I dare you to kiss…..” Izzie’s eyes roamed her coworkers as George waited anxiously. George wanted to smack his forehead when saw Izzie’s eyes settle on someone. “Alex. George, I dare you to kiss Alex for 10 seconds” Izzie announced.
George’s eyes widened with shock and panic. “Really Izzie, that’s all. You just want me to make out for ten seconds with ALEX?!!” he exclaimed incredulously.
Izzie smiled “No George. I want you to make out with Alex for ten seconds, and at least three seconds have to be tongue.”
George looked around the room. Meredith and Christina exchanged glances. They both knew no good could come of this. Alex was wearing his characteristic half smile, interested in the sudden turn of events.
George swallowed and stammered. “Okay well…um..well…I will come and do the….do the thing after I… uhh….use some mouthwash. Izzie why don’t you come with me? I’m sure….sure that you need to….uh wash your hands from the cookies.”
Izzie smirked as she followed George up the stairs. George motioned for her to enter the bathroom before he shut the door.
“Izzie,” George hissed, “this is a bad idea. This is a very bad idea.”
Izzie rolled her eyes. “George is this about the whole bisexual thing? Cause, I mean, Alex asked you after you mentioned your ‘super friendly’ patient and you were honest with him. And he told us and no one thinks any differently of you.”
“No Izzie, I’m not nervous about kissing a guy, I’m worried that it’s Alex. I mean you know how I feel about Meredith so why didn’t you--”
“Please George,” Izzie interrupted, “This crap about Meredith is a front for your thing for Alex. I know, Christina knows, hell, even Meredith knows. Even Alex knows the Mer thing is bull, he just doesn't know it's him you’re covering for.”
George struggled to reply but eventually breathed a sigh of resignation. “Was it really that obvious?”
Izzie once again smiled as she nodded. “Just for the record, next time you don’t want people to know who you have feelings for, I would recommend not staring longingly across the OR at said person .”
“Then why would you pick him!! Alex doesn’t like boys. How could that not have been obvious to you??!!” George exclaimed
The blonde walked to the door and opened it as she pushed George out of the restroom. “Call it spontaneity. Now go!”
The two friends descended the stairs as they spotted a tub of ice cream and chocolate syrup sitting next to two bowls with spoons.
“We wanted to have some dessert.” Meredith stated between bites upon taking notice of George and Izzie’s expressions.
George strode to the couch where Alex was sitting. He sat himself down and turned to face the handsome man as Alex set his bowl down. He took a deep breath exhaled and glanced over at Izzie. “Get ready to start the clock.”
Izzie set her bowl of ice cream down as she headed into the kitchen to grab a stopwatch. She returned and faced the men “Okay, go in 3, 2, 1…”
George sighed one last time before he cupped his hands on Alex’s face and pulled him in for a kiss. The kiss was even more mind blowing than George had imagined; Alex’s lips were surprisingly soft and sweet, the taste even sweeter because of some syrup that had been on his lips. George couldn’t break away from the kiss if he tried; he felt himself yearning to taste the inside of Alex’s mouth. He gently pushed his tongue against Alex’s lips and felt them part for the shorter man.
To the shock of almost everyone in the room, Alex let out an audible moan into George’s mouth as he felt George’s tongue wash across his. All three women in the room stared in amazement as they noticed Alex pulling George closer as his experienced hands continued to explore George’s body. George was more than happy to oblige as he pressed his body against Alex. The pair was still ravaging one another long after ten seconds had passed. George and Alex continued moaning and pressing into each other with such passion that they fell off the couch onto the floor.
Meredith was the first to speak as George rolled on top of Alex. “I think they like each other,” she said with a hint or sarcasm. She was startled by a sudden harsh sound.
Christina, Izzie and Meredith gasped as they heard the loud tearing of fabric. They looked at the ground and saw that Alex was now straddling a shirtless George. Remains of a green T-shirt lay off to the side of the couple.
“Did he just…did he just rip off George’s shirt?!” Izzie asked incredulously with her eyes glued on the pair.
“ Uhh…I think that’s a definite possibility” Christina responded as she saw George pull Alex’s shirt over Alex’s head.
“Well, why don’t we go to the kitchen and leave these two to themselves,” Meredith suggested as she watched the men in awe.
The three female interns stepped over George and Alex as they walked towards the kitchen. Once they’d entered Christina tapped Izzie on the shoulder and asked, “Hey did you know Evil Spawn was crushing on Bambi?”
Izzie grinned mischievously “He kept glancing at George while he was changing in the locker room. I wasn’t sure at first, but after three weeks it was pretty obvious.”
Christina shrugged. “Wow, I must say, I’m kinda impressed.”
“Why don’t we hang out upstairs instead of hanging out here?” Meredith hurriedly asked as she stared into the living room.
“Why, what’s up?”
“Well, Izzie’s going to be paying for my carpet because I just saw George reach up and grab the bottle of chocolate syrup from the table. So I have a feeling we don’t want to be here.”
Izzie grinned again. “I guess we were wrong after all. George is anything but predictable.”
