I saw The Trojan Women last night. The director's note (and much of the promotion) focused on its role as an anti-war play, which of course was true, both script-wise and stage-wise, but not how I read it. I read it very much as a commentary on what it means to be a woman. Particularly, how much it sucks to be a woman. In a different world, granted ( Read more... )

All my attempts at post-show reflection fell flat, but it feels inappopriate to bid farewell to the 2007 one-acts without some sort of LJ acknowledgement, so I'm just going to say my thank yous and move on. I prefer to use this journal for amusement rather than introspection anyway.

So when we were brainstorming (sub)titles for the one-acts and I threw "C'est Levine!" into the mix, I thought I was being all clever and witty and original. Turns out?
