42. The Secret History - Donna Tartt - 559 pages. Timeless book about a group of friends, murder, intrigue and the inter-relationships between them. I call it timeless, because apparently it is set in the 70's / early 80's at an eastern private college, but the students seem like something out of the 50's. References to VCR's, ATM's and other modern conveniences seem out of place with the rest of the setting and the characters. This was recommended by a coworker from our Seattle branch, and I really enjoyed it.
