Last night at the Tiki Bar

Much fun was had by all. Of course only three of us managed to make it there, but we made the acquaintance of a charming woman who had very interesting stories and who recently joined a new soul/blues band that will be playing around town. Of course I didn't manage to remember her name, and the band doesn't have a name yet, so the likelyhood of running into her performing around town somewhere isn't that great.

Mr. Cato (not on LJ) and crankycatlady and I had some lovely conversation up at the bar in the lounge of The Jasmine Tree. We also discovered that although PSU now owns the land for the block, they haven't figured out exactly what they will be doing with it, so the demise of the place was so far wrong. I had a mudslide, which was tasty, and cashew chicken. Per usual, I forgot to ask if I could have the mushrooms and baby corn removed from the dish, so I was berated charmingly by the bartender when he cleared my plate and noticed them still there.

I left about 6:20 PM in order to make my political meeting. My debut as Recording Secretary wasn't too bad, and I managed to get the bulk of the discussion and crucial points into my first draft, so that won't be too hard. However, the meeting dragged on, and on, and on, and on and finally let out at 9:50 PM!!

I got home about 10:15 PM, having gotten a much appreciated ride, and then proceeded to log on to the wireless network to email myself the draft from the laptop, so I can edit with a mouse for formatting more easily.

I also discovered something about my new cell phone. I had gotten a couple of calls that had gone to voicemail, and couldn't figure out why that was happening. Turns out I was completely shutting the phone off instead of putting it into standby. *Phew!* So that is fixed now, and one less thing to worry about.
