Another Lovely Day

Jun 02, 2010 18:38

I am currently printing out and reading some of my old LJ entries. I purchased a large binder and hope to print out all my entries and place them in it. I have become inspired to do so because I recently found some old journals and old journal printouts from a site I used before LJ called Diaryland. These journals are pretty freaking embarrassing. I liked a new guy or thought someone new was hot in like every other entry. Must have been super horny back then or something because now I pretty much dislike or get annoyed by most guy.

I spent my day outside in the sun out in and by the pool today. I bought a couple new tubes and Nicole bought some new floats that were on sale plus her discount at Namco. One of them is the same blue one I bought last summer because I liked it a lot, but of course it got a hole in it while being stored stupidly throughout the winter. I finished reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo this week. I loveeddd it and am making Alex buy me the next two books in the series The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest because I bought us tickets to the Newport Folk Festival the other night which was like $150 altogether. I am soo excited to go though. I get to see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and other assorted bands. I have listened to a few others that will be playing that day and they sound good as well. It should be a fun relaxing day. I hope the weather is nice. I now started to read The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and it is enjoyable so far.

Yesterday I had my Newport Architecture class it was very interesting lol. We were looking at the Old Stone Mill in Touro Park. My professor was specifically explaining that there are many people who have become obsessed with certain myths surrounding the tower which are completely false. One of the specific myths around it was that it is a Viking Tower, but he told us that you have to use Occam's Razor and accept that the simplest explanation is sometimes the best and in this case it is a ruined 17th century English style windmill. Well this guy came out of nowhere and was listening to my professor speak the whole time and was kind of freaking me out when he was looking over Becky and my shoulders to see what we were writing down for notes. At the end when we were getting ready to move on he jumped in out of nowhere and took over the class for a good 15mins. He was telling us all his crazy astronomical and sun/moon alignment theories behind the setup of the towers windows, arches and stones. It was truly crazy and I even wrote in my notes that "a crazy guy has taken over the class" lol. Everyone was looking around at one another asking "what the heck is going on." My professor disaproved much of what he was saying in a matter of minutes and it was hilarious because this guy was telling us that he had worked years and dedicated so much and written all these pages on these theories haha. My professor in the end pulled us away from him and told us"see that was the perfect example/demonstration of what I was telling you about obsessed crackpots." haha ohh man. We walked around the Common Burying Ground and looked at some 17th century gravestones and also at the Quaker's Meeting House & the Stephen Mumford House. I really do enjoy this class.

I went to URI afterward. Sold my $107 archaeology book back for a whomping $34. Worked after that. Linda told me all about how her final photography class at RISD went. She took a ton of pictures of me posing as both Shiva and in the pose of a Victorian portrait. She played around with all of them in photoshop and we printed them out with the photo printer we took from downstairs last week. She said they were all a hit and she did well on all of them. She deserves it every photo she had to display looked like that of a professional photographer. I do not know how she does it! I love Linda and am so happy I have had the opportunity to work for her. She is going to give me the final copies of all my photos next week I believe.

After work I hung out with Rabia and TJ. We hung around Rabia's house for awhile and then went out. Laila was obsessing and laughing non-stop over my awesome "smile' ringtone (baabahhbahhbahh babbdodptydodpty bah bahh) I cannot even describe it, but it is silly and makes me laugh. Went to Dunkin Donuts in Apponaug. They did not have like three different things we attempted to order lol. I tried their grilled cheese flatbread and yuckk way too cheesy for my liking. I always thought any food from Dunkin Donuts other then bagels, muffins and donuts would be no good and I was correct. We talked outside in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot and again outside of Tj's house. Tj left and Rabia and I returned to her house. Rabia read some more astrology things to me from her new book and I feel asleep eventually.

This past Saturday was fun. Alex and I had a Subway picnic at Gilbert Stuart's birthplace in Saunderstown, a little before URI. It is so pretty and serene. I would love to live on the property. It has a pond, a few buildings, a fish ladder, a nature trail, a picnic area, a slate made waterfall, water wheels. I just liked it there a lot. We ate some sandwiches with Colby the caretakers dog lol he was cute. Played Old Maid which I had not played in ages and I am pretty sure we were playing incorrectly, but I could not remember the rules lol. I lost every time though. Walked around the property and through the nature trail. At the end of the nature trail we sat on a bench that was overlooking the pond which was pretty. We left around 1 and returned to Alex's house. His strange neighbor built a Red Bull/blue tarp barricade around his porch which I say Hallelujah too, so I do not have to see his dumb face anymore. I love Alex's moms description of him "he just sits in his underwear on the porch and drinks beer all day." We say Rafay and his friend before we had left. It was actually a funny situation. We were sitting in my car and go to Alex "Hey look there are some hipsters in your park playing guitar." Alex "huuhh where?" Me "Ohh look one of the hipsters must got to Rafay's college. His shirt says Purchase." Alex "Uhhh that is Rafay." I guess his friend lives across the street from Alex in front of the house where I always park my car in the street...strange. Well after Gilbert Stuart's we watched Adventure Time, which I freaking love. One of the most amusing cartoons in ages. It is rather perverted though I will admit, but hilarious.

Well not sure what I will do now. Watch Pirate Radio? Play Whispered World or Touch Detective? Read Forgotten Garden? By the way I am loving Whispered World it is such a pretty, enjoyable adventure game too bad it does not work on my computer because my veido card is not good enough. I have to play it on my brother's computer.
