Pretty sleepy right now. I just finished watching Splinterheads thanks to Netflix on xbox live. Netflix on xbox is the only reason I do not completely hate the system. In my opinion whenever people I know play games on xbox such as Halo, Call of Duty and all that other nonsense it just makes them angry. i don't get it I have rarely if ever gotten aggravated at a video game.
Well my day was pretty dull. I got up, got ready and went to class. It was a nice day out thank goodness. The spur of the moment rain storm started 15mins after class ended and I was already driving thank goodness. We went inside the Stephen Mumford House and the Friends Meeting House today. It was pretty interesting and they smelled like old wood. I was claustrophobic inside a couple 1st story rooms in the Mumford house. They were soo tiny the ceilings were so low it was freaking me out. I chose my building for my paper and it will be on the Trinity Church. I am really enjoying Newport. I want to go more often outside of class. After class I went to work. I was informed by Linda that we may have to throw away a good portion of our 100,000+ slides and a bunch of other equipment and furniture we no longer use. I guess and I am not surprised that the area of the Fine Arts building we are located in does not meet the updated fire codes and so the large A202 room may have to be split into two class rooms and one of those classrooms may invade Linda's office space. This is going to be a nightmare and I will be sad/annoyed if we have to throw away all those slides. I feel like I will be participating in knowledge, beautiful image and hard work destruction....like the kind that I thought was ridiculous when reading about how old library catalog card collections were thrown out. A bit on the same idea.
I had a wonderful time plucking the chairs I use to lay out on the pool deck on, out of the pool. It must have been extremely windy at some point and both the chairs blew in and sunk to the bottom. I am praying they did not damage the lining. I was super careful when taking them out.
I got my intent to graduate form signed and filed yesterday! I am glad that is done with. I met with my adviser early yesterday morning and she went through and signed it for me. I also mailed my history minor form to the chairperson of history who needs to sign it and she graciously offered to fax it to the deans office for me once she had done so. At work later in the night some girl stubbed her already damaged toe in the powerwheels section and her whole toe nail came off I guess. Everyone said there was blood everywhere and a nasty toenail on the ground, gross. I was stuck in electronics all night as I have a feeling I will be every Monday night from now on.
I am sooo freaking absolutely excited. This past saturday Alex and I booked a whole vacation on our own! We are going on a 5 day Carnival cruise in January. It goes to the Grand Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios Jamaica in the Western Caribbean. I wanted to go somewhere I have no yet been to and these were two of them. It was not bad at all we split the cost so far. I paid for the plane tickets and hotel the night before. Alex paid for the whole cruise. It cost us each $700. All we have left to spent money on are our excursions and spending money on and off board. I am going to try and save all the money I can. There is nothing I need to purchase right now other then leisurely reading books that I need during the summer & a few small summer fun things like Block Island. I was looking at excursions and I definitely wat to do this Dunn's River Falls and Bobsled thing at Jamaica and maybe para sailing in Grand Cayman. I cannot wait. It it our graduation present to ourselves, even though Alex does not graduate until May. The same cruise in the summer months is just about double the price.
I am hoping it is nice out tomorrow. I want to lay outside by the pool and swim. I should actually check the weather once I am done on here, which is right about now. Night Night.
