good summer fun!
I have the chicken pox.
I suppose it gives me a good reason to sit around and do nothing as I wait for the summer's end. My summer has been splendid. Except for right now.
Most people I talk to about the pox are like "yeah, I had them when I was little, I remember I was really itchy" or something like that. Well, apparently, if you get them when you are older, it is much worse. And it doesn't help that I can't just laze around in a diaper. Clothes on the skin just irritates it more. My dear mother brought home some oatmeal stuff to use in the bath. I used some today, and it was the best I have felt since this darn virus started! I've also taken about a billion showers. It's nuts.
I never had chicken pox when I was little, and I never was vaccinated. Pops says I probably contracted the virus on the 9+ hr plane flight home from Europe.
Well, I am really not sure how long this is supposed to last, I've looked it up, and 'they' say 4-7 days. So I don't know if that means it'll be like THIS for the next week, or I'll get less itchy as the days go on. I sure hope so.
So here I am, eating double-chocolate-fudge ice cream to soothe my swollen throat. Quite tasty. At least some good is coming from this. Also, since I've never read Harry Potter, I just may attempt to read as much as I can while I am in this sorry state. I'm on page 50 or so of the first one, but I seem to have misplaced that book whilst in my drugged state... Benadryl can sure knock you out good.
