The world is topsy-turvy

The West Coast has officially been declared a drought zone.

Right. So, all of you reading that sentence who do no know NZ, will not understand the bizarreness of it. 'West Coast' and 'drought' are not normally things that go together, and certainly are never heard in the same sentence. The West Coast and torrential rainful, yes, you could expect to hear that, often, but drought? It's never happened before in the entire recorded history of NZ.

The West Coast is actually known for it's rain. It rains hard, It rains a lot. It hardly ever seems to stop raining. Where has all the rain gone? When tankers are required to carry water to the West Coast, then you know their is something very, very wrong.
