I was thinking of just sticking around and cleaning up or something after the wedding reception. There's a pool and a hot tub on site. I'm getting married a month from today (squeeee!)  The ceremony is at 4pm and since the time change will have already happened, it will be almost or completely dark by the time it's over.  Any suggestions on what to give the guests for when we leave the church?  I originally wanted bubbles before I realized it will probably be too dark for that.  ( Read more... )

Are there any like reeeeaaalllly simple instructions on how to make them. I am helping a friend make them for her wedding tomorrow night and neither one of us are very good at DIY stuff, so the easier the better.

I bought some small picture frames to put on the guestbook table. One is to say "Please sign our guestbook" and the other one will say something to the effect of "We aren't allowed to have anyone throw anything so instead of confetti, please take a sparkler to wave around as we leave". Our little shin-dig will be outside, with no clear "exit" spot (no gap in a grove of trees or any sort of fun natural feature to assist us) so we're thinking of creative ways to signal an end to the reception and head to the car besides just...walking to the car ( Read more... )

When I first started wedding planning (this time last year) I came across a picture of YAY flags used  in lieu of rice/birdseed and thought it was an awesome idea. The only problem  was the girl who made them cut the flags from muslin, sewed each one herself, and then silkscreened on the YAYs.

How do you feel about going away outfits? My mother thinks I'm bizarre for not wanting one, and says I'll look odd if I don't change into one. Is it traditional? How commonly is it done? I always imagined going straight from the reception to the hotel in my wedding gown.

I think we have finally decided not to program at our wedding. I have some cute ideas, but it is really another thing that I don't need to add to my list. We are having a small wedding (50 people) and a pretty basic ceremony so I can't think of another reason to have them ( Read more... )
