I bought some small picture frames to put on the guestbook table. One is to say "Please sign our guestbook" and the other one will say something to the effect of "We aren't allowed to have anyone throw anything so instead of confetti, please take a sparkler to wave around as we leave". So I opened my word processor, cracked my knuckles... and realised I can't think of a way to say the above in a couple of lines that doesn't sound stupid. Some of the older guests, including both sets of parents, haven't quite understood the concept until its been explained. My other idea was to just show a photo of an exit with sparklers with "please take one for our exit" or something, but google images is only coming up with bride and groom exits, and we're having a bride and bride wedding. Its a topic for a whole separate rant, but we don't want to be giving certain guests too much opportunity to point out how we're just 'playing' at having a 'real' wedding (more than they are already. Sigh... when weddings and controversial politics collide) So, if anyone out there has a photo from a gay wedding exit with sparklers that they wouldn't mind me putting out at my wedding, I would be eternally grateful.
