advice, please!

This is career related, but wedding related, too!

So, I don't want to go into all the details, because I still think I got the shaft, but I got fired last week. Le sigh.

Our wedding is slated for next October 6, 2007. FH and I have been toying around with getting married earlier.. For a couple reasons.

1.) My industry- advertising/ event planning/ PR doesn't allow for much time off when you are employed.
2.) We could save some money and use it for a house
3.) We're impatient
4.) We've been dating for a long time anyway, we may as well just go ahead with it.

The wedding we were (are) planning was (is) going to be 175++ traditional Catholic wedding with a live band and a big to-do. I didn't really want this in the first place, but FH did, and I wasn't totally opposed, so I said "sure, why the heck not?" I'm an extrovert anyway.

So my point is, I am just ready to get married now. Get married, go on a honeymoon, since I don't have a job to worry about, take a break and figure out what the heck I want to do.

But then, do I have a vow renewal? Do we just not have a big to-do? My mom said I would probably be sad if we didn't have a big party, and that would probably be true... So... Advice? Anyone?

Or, should I just tough it out and wait and try to find a new job and tell them I will get married and have to take time off?

So confused.
