Ok! Now let’s get into it!
Ok I Don’t even know where to start! It was fantastic! I pretty much think I had the best wedding ever! No big drama, nothing going horridly wrong. Sure a few bad things happened like my breaking my shoe dancing down the isle with my dad. But nothing I couldn’t get over.
It was a destination wedding, so everything I planned was either over the phone or email and decorations were limited to what I could pack up easily into my car. We were engaged almost 2 years before we got married and I would have not done it any other way, it let me plan at a slower pace and allowed us to save all the money we needed.
The only thing that gave me a small panic attack was out cake jars, I could not get them to bake, and since I had to take them 6 hours away I needed to do them that night because I was leaving in the morning. Eventually after crying and panicking my hubby, made me tea, figured out what we were doing wrong and promised me we could buy a cake last second if we need. We eventually figured it out, and the rainbow cake jars, while not what I planned, were still delicious.
I don’t think if I could do it again I would, everything that went wrong made the day perfect with its imperfections and at the end of the day I was surrounded by my closest friends, family and my new hubby.
In the end it was beautiful!
If you have any questions feel free to ask, I have no idea what people like to hear about! LOL!
Our Adventure book/guest book/ wedding scrap book (when I’m done with it) and out ‘Engagement portrait’ drawn by our good friend
The table decorations
Our super fancy Walmart wedding cake and out cake “nexter” (I can’t read dimensions on the internet )and it is obviously way to big to fit on a cake but I like it better this way
My sister copying my vows into my wedding note book because I only finished them the night before and then didn’t have time to write them in my ceremony book.
The Groom getting his hair did! By his mom and being watched by his brother/best man
Getting into the dress
Getting my make up finished while my MOH franticly trying to fix my dress that just broke, luckily she is the seamstress who altered my dress and she brought her sewing kit so it was not a big deal. But it made for a good pic.

Colorado Venders:
Photographer: Grechen Troop/
http://gretchentroop.com/ - A+, She is not normally a wedding Photographer (usually landscapes, music festivals and band portraits), but she is friends with my dad and after speaking with her I knew she was the one for us. She was excited out shooting our wedding as her first wedding. She was pleasant and available. There are some things after the fact that I wish had been done differently, but keeping in mind it was her first wedding and she was a little unsure I can easily forgive the small little things because the photos we got are amazing I think!
Caterer: Carinos, Grand Junction /
http://www.carinos.com/ - A++, being as this was a destination wedding we wanted to go with something familiar and Carinos stepped up big time. They talked us through everything on the phone and where more then helpful when ever with had an issue or a question. Also the food was delicious! Their server was friendly and efficient at clearing away plates ( maybe a little too efficient if anything, I left to get some photos taken and when we came back our food was gone, but we could have easily gotten more)
Internet Venders:
Bride and Bridesmaid Dresses - Unique Vintage /
http://www.unique-vintage.com - A+, they were very friendly on the phone when we called to check on back ordered things and even let me change part of my order because the underskirt I ordered would not be in in time for the wedding they let me pick a different color and shipped it out that day.
Plus sized Steel boned Corset - Hips and Curvers /
http://www.hipsandcurves.com - A+, I have oreded corsets from them before and loved them, but I knew if I expected one to really hold up the girls I would need a steel boned one, so I waited for a sale and I picked out oun in off white and waited. And OMG I loved it! It kept the girls up while smoothing me out all while really causing me no discomfort unless I tried to slouch ( which I love to do) and letting me breath. Loved it!
Grooms and Grooms men Clothing - JCpenny /
http://www.jcpenney.com - A, The Clothing was good and the shipping was fast, though I never really dealt with any of their customer service people myself because the Hubby just ordered his online instead of going into the store.
Ties - Bows ‘N Ties /
http://www.bows-n-ties.com/ - A+, Great selection, fast shipping very nice quality.
Bride’s jewelry - Bella Lili Jewelry /
http://www.bellalili.com/ - A+++++, OMG I love this woman! I bought my necklace from her and then she custome made my bracelet and earing to match, she also cutom made my MOH necklace and my rehersal dinner necklace! This lady is a goddess and I recommend her to every single person I talk to!
Sound effect head pieces - Janine Basil /
http://www.etsy.com/shop/JanineBasil - A+, her gropu pricing is grat and they came very fast ( especially considering I like in the USA and she lives in England) the headbands were perfect and well made.
Comic Book Roses - Bookish Bride /
http://www.etsy.com/shop/bookishbride - A+, loved working with her, she made the roses quickly and used specific comics I asked for, the roses where well packed and shipped quickly.
Parasols - Luna Bazaar /
http://www.lunabazaar.com/ - A+, nothing much to say Parasols where just what I expected and my girls loved them! Especially in the summer desert heat!
Crowns - Pomp And Plumage /
http://www.etsy.com/shop/PompAndPlumage - A, while the crowns where of good quality, she said she would include ribbon which she didn’t (no big I picked up my own at the craft store for a few bucks)
Flask garter - Moonshine Belle /
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MoonshineBelle - A+, Flask garter shipped quickly and was made to my specifications. Garter did not really stay on, but I blame that more on the fact that my nylons provided no grip then to the garter itself.
