One of the larger issues you see with politics now, especially in the US two party system, is that there's a lack of cross talk between differing parties and a lot of us or them, which leads to a lot of nothing actually getting done.And a lot of infuriating media coverage, oi.
Urgh. I want to say to go with your advisor, since I'm assuming he'll be head of your thesis chair but on the other hand, if he doesn't have hard references...? It's hard to back a thesis on nothing but anecdotes.
Urgh - we're into election time, and I still remember the days of actually disclosing policies (this no longer really happens, sadly) - and the complication of who is running where and guh (we get party political broadcasts for parties we can't even vote for *face palms*). (British politics is depressing when you watch parliament sessions and it's like a public school dining hall with the differing groups baiting each other *face palms
