So I have this American midterm tomorrow at 4:30. The books I have to summarize on it are dead boring and I'm wired on coffee. Fun.
I went to the Belle & Sebastian concert tonight. The New Pornographers opened. TNP were not as solid as their set in October, mainly due to the lack of Neko and Dan, both on tour with their separate musical personas. But I mean, still good fun. They played about an even third from each album, which was a nice surprise.
Fairly large contingent of us went - me, Sarah, Ben, David, Emily, Ben Rankin, Anna, Ashley, Leah and a few others...B+S were amazing. Like...take the pure joy of their albums, amp it up, add flashing coloured lights, Stuart Murdoch's random anecdotes and funkily-awkward dancing and multiply it by approximately....62. Yeah, that sounds about right. Just wow. They closed with Judy and the Dream of Horses, which is one of my favourites and opened with The State I Am In off of Tigermilk. Just a perfect set all around, if I bit heavy on the later stuff. I'm definitely going to pick up The Life Pursuit now, because the stuff they played off that was pretty solid. Definitely moreso than anything post-Sinister or Arab Strap. Also, Arcade Fire were in the balcony boxes watching the concert. Sarah and Ben bumped into them after.
Also, I lost my vestiere ticket and had to wait to near the end to find my coat. Which sucked.
Enough pretentious indie fucking though. I'm gonna finish these darn books and make some pasta. Yum.
EDIT: Pictures from the TNP/BS concert and the Stars one at Winterlude are at
this facebook photo album. Peace.
